Emphasis & Focal Point

CONTRAST creates a focal point here. The color scheme is mostly dark with the exception of one light point, the flower's center. The viewers attention is immediately directed in that direction.

In this New York City image the emphasis is accomplished by element PLACEMENT. The focus is directed towards the rectangular shaped building contained in the virtual vertical lines created through the reflecting light effect.

A cool color scheme alternating blues and greens set the background for the red barns to stand out and be the emphasis in the design where ONE ELEMNT is dominant over others, different in form, color and size.

There's an ABSENCE OF FOCAL POINT in this Paris inspired piece. I believe the artist goal was for viewers to explore the entire design. A great use of space along a consistent a warm palette of similar saturation and close in size elements with repeating lines,  result in just that, an even distribuition.
